Long-Action Lightweight Hunter Rifle

Aero Precision is expanding its rifle lineup with the introduction of the long-action Lightweight Hunter. Building on the success of its short-action rifles, this new model is tailored for Western hunters seeking a lightweight yet reliable solution.

The Lightweight Hunter retains Aero Precision’s hallmark features, including a one-piece action with a machined-in top rail. This one-piece design eliminates issues like loose rails, offering a more reliable and durable mounting solution.

Considerable weight reductions were also achieved by machining the top rail and removing unnecessary material from the middle of the action.

Despite these changes, the rifle undergoes the same rigorous quality control process, including 100% CMM inspection.

The Aero Precision Lightweight Hunter has the Picatinny rails machined into the receiver.

To deliver a premium hunting rifle, Aero Precision is partnering with Grayboe and Proof Research. The Lightweight Hunter will come equipped with a Grayboe Phoenix Stock. It features an adjustable cheek comb.

Also, the rifle with come with a Proof Research carbon fiber barrel. These are known for their exceptional weight savings and precision performance.

A Grayboe Phoenix stock is used for each Aero Lightweght Hunter rifle.

Available calibers for the long-action model include .300 Winchester Magnum, 7mm Remington Magnum, .30-06 Springfield, 7mm PRC, and .300 PRC. For those interested in 6.5 PRC, it will remain an option in Aero’s short-action configuration.

The Lightweight Hunter is expected to launch in Q2 this year, with standalone actions and complete rifle builds available. Pricing is anticipated to be around $2,600, though final details are still being finalized.

Updated Lever Gun Furniture

Following the debut of its lever gun furniture last year, Aero Precision has refined its designs based on customer feedback.

Two key requests—a shorter buttstock and reduced weight—led to notable improvements. The updated furniture incorporates weight-reduction cuts and a shortened buttstock, enhancing handling without sacrificing functionality.

The slimmer handguard maintains the classic lever gun feel while adding modern capabilities.

“It still feels and looks traditional, but you get modern features,” explained Brandon from Aero Precision.

These features include M-LOK compatibility, a full-length rail for reliable optic mounting, and an adjustable comb for improved ergonomics.

Additionally, the buttstock now features an M-LOK accessory section, allowing users to attach extras like round holders.

M-LOK handguard features slots at 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock on Aero’s lever action.

Aero Precision will offer the furniture in three anodized colors—black, Kodiak, and OD green—and they designed it to fit Marlin 1895s and their clones, such as those from Rossi.

The company is actively developing adapters for other models, including the Marlin 336 and Henry rifles.

“Eventually, we’d like to have furniture for as many lever guns as possible,” Brandon added.

Aero Precision designed the furniture for easy installation, allowing users to swap it out in about five minutes using just one screw for the buttstock.

Aero Precision plans to release the updated standalone furniture midway through this year, with a complete lever-action receiver expected next year.

Commitment to Innovation

Aero Precision’s lever gun furniture and Lightweight Hunter rifle highlight the company’s dedication to addressing the desires of gun owners.

By combining traditional aesthetics with cutting-edge features, Aero Precision continues to deliver what consumers are demanding.
